| Sunday. 19th September 2004. | |
Taking it further than we ever have, the next quiz is going to be quite a hard one. But we figure that a Halloween quiz needs horror based questions so most of them (say 90%) are going to be horror themed. All of the soundtracks are horror soundtracks and some are from famous slasher movies from back in the 70's and 80's so do your homework kids... It is only really the trailers round that has non-horror content. A couple of the trailers aren't horror-skewed at all... as there aren't that many horror films on release and we've already used stuff like The Grudge in previous quizes... Also, we have altered the trailers page to remove some of the flash text... with other two hundred trailers to link too, it was taking an age to load. it's now text-based for speed. Also, as some people have been printing off the list of trailers and not watching them, we're using trailers in the next quiz that aren't on-site so you have to be even more film-savvy to get them! Check the message-board area for more details... Anyway, good luck people and see you on the 6th! - Paul

The day after one of our finest quizzes...also one of our hardest from what many of you said last night... they do tend to fluctuate between easy and hard don't they? Oh well... it was still good fun and Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn popping up to say hello on the big screen can't be that bad can it?!? It was also a pleasure to make Dickon Edwards' acquaintance and we're glad he and his team had a nice time at the quiz. They shall be returning for next months (see above poster)... the 'No More Room in the Pub - Halloween Special'. It'll be themed around scary movies, both old and new and, despite the suggestion from the delightful Teleute on the message boards, it wont be fancy dress. It seems many other attendees simply aren't bothered or are in fact put off by the idea... so if you want to wear a costume, you can... but we wont be enforcing it as a rule and Stew and I certainly wont be dressed up... - Paul

The merchandise-eagle has landed!!! Yep... its been a long long while - a year and a half by our reckoning, but we have finally got some officially Bigger Boat merchandise on the site thanks to our friends at i-merchandiser.com! I'd also like to personally thank Mr. Weebl and Bob Jonti Picking for expediting the whole thing a bit more quickly... There will be some other items coming very soon (including Stewart's beloved and thought lost 'Quint Indianapolis Speech' T-shirt - which is very cool...) but in the meantime, drink deep of it's splendor!!! It's Christmas soon and you know that your loved one wants nothing more than one of our pub-quiz T-Shirts! We're gonna try and have some on our backs by the next quiz! - Paul

Two
weeks till the next quiz by our count and it's shaping up to be the best
yet... not only in celebrity questions, but also in prizes and the fact
that it is a media dandy showdown... with Boogaloo Ambassador Dickon
Edwards promising to deliver "The Most Stylish Looking Team
In The Room (If Not The World)". So the game is afoot... Shape
up kids.. and don't wear trainers, lest you incur his foppish wrath. Hope to see you all there. In other news, the merchandise section is days away now and I've added Otis' mobile phone winners pics for you to look at in the winners section. - Paul

It's full steam ahead for the September Quiz... and we're going a bit high-brow with it... Check out the Polanski-based poster... not bad eh?!? None of your tat. Who says we're too populist for the tots?!? We'll be asking a couple of questions about foreign films and some arthouse fare at the next quiz. In other news, there wont be any pictures from the last quiz online as the camera didn't have batteries in it. We do have some lo-res phone cam pictures that Otis from co-wining team 2 Slow, 2 Clueless kindly took for us, but I'm a bit of a picture resolution fascist... I may get around to putting them online soon (or perhaps not)... There are also some new trailers online including the Batman Begins teaser and a curious remake of the French film L'Apartment. Enjoy. - Paul

A week and a half away from the August quiz: Fear and Loathing at The Boogaloo. I won't be there as I'm off on an L.A. holiday jolly. Stew will be flying solo on this one, so be gentle with him. Should still be a good night though and I hope you guys all have fun without me! - Paul

One day until quiz-aggedon! July's quiz has shaped up quite well, though it is a bit hard. We've also run a bit dry on celeb's as I've neglected to harvest many of late... so I think we may well be re-using one we played before... so if you can remember what Jason Patric asked you (if anything), you could gain a one point advantage! In other news, The Lesbian Vampire Killers (first draft) script is now online. Please read it and feel free to offer suggestions of how to improve it (basically make it even cheesier)... on the message board. It's rubbish... but it's brilliant rubbish (if that makes any sense). - Paul

A big thank you to everyone who came along to Wednesday nights quiz. We had a great time and, as usual, it was packed to the gills! Stewart and I both appreciate your continued support and we'd like to thank offer special thank to the comics dudes (of Linda Lovelace fame) for our Blade toy... pure gold! In other news, my home PC is buggered, so I can't post the pictures from the quiz till it gets fixed, though it should be quicker than pics on site from last quiz (which took a bloody month!) - Paul

| Tuesday. 15th June 2004. | |
One day away from the monumentally late June quiz and the board is now open to place reservations for the July quiz : Escape from Boogaloo! In other news, we have some new trailers (Wimbledon and the cool Japanese I-Robot trailer) and the TV version of the pub quiz is on MTV again on Friday (at 9pm) and Saturday (at 9.30)... though we'll be forcing you all to watch it tomorrow when Stew's marking the papers! - Paul

In unrelated news - it's my mom's birthday ("Hi Mom". Sorry I couldn't make it back to Birmingham to see you this weekend)... but more importantly, today is the day I finally pull-finger and get the pictures from the last quiz up on-site for your viewing pleasure... Sorry it's taken so long, but Stew and I have been bastard-busy making the TV version of the show and working on other respective projects (The Lesbian Vampire Killers being one). Anyway... above is a nice pickie of the winning team from the May Quiz 'Cup The Balls, Stroke The Shaft'. Check out the pictures section for more runners-up and images form that night. - Paul

Poster for the June quiz - new date 16th June. In other news, we have 20 tickets for the UK premiere of The Day After Tomorrow to give away to you guys... but you'll have to get in early with a request on the forum message board... You can also request tickets to come to the recording of the 2nd movie quiz TV pilot "Dude, Where's My Movie Quiz!" on 2nd June. Again enlist via the message board. - Paul

| Tuesday. 18th May 2004. | |
We're going to have to put back the pub quiz until 16th June for next months installment. I'm afraid that this is because of commitments to the MTV version of the quiz, which we have to make the 2nd broadcast pilot of on the 2nd (Wednesday) to accomodate talent requests. We can't move to another day before the 16th as Gerry has a very busy pub with his excellent Vox n' Roll spoken word performances. Hopefully this wont upset too many of you and you can make it on the 16th! - Paul

| Thursday. 6th May 2004. | |
The day after the night before the quiz. All went well and both Stew and I had a hell of a lot of fun (and I had a hell of a lot of cider unfortunately) - It was a close cal though... having dealt with a broken screen at the eleventh hour! All praise to Boogaloo landlord Gerry O'Boyle for getting in a pro to fix it (the transformer had gone in the screen). All was well and it was another packed house. Pictures to follow in a few days (got a busy weekend ahead as it's my birthday Monday and have various celebrations planned)... they'll get done though. - Paul

| Monday. 3rd May 2004. | |
Jesus H. Corbett... what was going to be a nice day with friends on Hampstead Heath has turned into a rain-soaked nightmare... Not barbecue weather at all... so I figured I'd post an update here... two days to go until the quiz (and exactly 7 days until my 29th birthday) and it's all ready to roll... though we don't have many free videos to give away (much to Stew's sadness)... so if you have any old crappy VHS' that you've upgraded to DVD, bring 'em in and we'll re-distribute them to the masses!!! Looking forward to seeing you all in a couple of days! - Paul

So here it is.... merry Christmas, everybody's having fun. The line-up from the MTV pilot of our "crazy" quiz-show (with me stuck on the end)... It looks very much like we are going to be making this show soon, so I'd like to ask you all to enroll as audience members when we start shooting.. I really want you guys to come, having been responsible for birthing the quiz at The Boogaloo! - Paul |

Yep, it's that time again... unleashing a new cool Bigger Boat quiz poster. This time we've gone Fight Club! The site has been updated with some new trailers... the Spielberg / Hanks movie 'The Terminal' and also some cool weird French Sci-Fi called 'Immortel' amongst others... We also have the new addition of 3 downloadable desktop wallpapers (one of which is based on a variation of the above image) via our 'other stuff' section... so you can spread the word at work via your desktop and let your work mates see what kind of 'crazy shit' they are missing out on by not coming... So customize your desktop with our Fight Club soap, a giant attacking shark or our Ferris Bueller homage,,, We've also archived the news section again as it was getting a tad full... So please follow the link below to go to the relevant news sections. - Paul
