Oh my god... 2005 already? We had trouble raising the usual DVD player as they had sold out at our usual outlet... se we raided the toy stores for classic film memorabilia... and here it was.... David St. Hubbins from The Tap and some Spiderman 2 gumph (and the usual booze).

First place went to An Alan Smithee Quiz with 52 points. They beat all comers to take home the 12" tall figure of the member of The Tap!

...Meaning that 2 Slow, 2 Clueless took the spoils of Spiderman 2 with a close 51 points.... they had a DVD, press book and action figure set.

...November '04 winners A Fistful of Hasselehoff's had to settle with the champagne having won a scissors, paper, stone tie-breaker against the Knights of the Round Table. They had 49 points.

Oddly named C4PO came last, but got a consolation prize for putting something funny about something on one of their quiz forms... Though I have forgotten what it was... d'oh! I can remember we reunited them with their little brother C3PO after a fellow quizzer donated a model of said droid. Result!

With runners up in third place enjoying the shoddy Troy DVD.

This gentleman, Mr. Paul Kelly came first in the team The Unreasonably Late Nightcomers. They had 59 points and went for the champagne! Allegedly he didn't answer any of his teams questions.. but we won't hold that against him! :)

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones came second with a whopping 56 points... they got the PS2. Lucky fellas.

Back once again with the renegade master... the delights of images of the winners from yet another fun-packed quiz. Though we dispensed with issuing a booby prize for this one... I fear in coming last, a member of project mayhem no longer gets acknowledged. Sorry. So anyway... to the winners, the spoils!

Following a fierce battle of Scissors, Paper, Rock, the first place was decided by a shoddy performance from Ethan McKinley... The outcome of the game was contested and replayed to a best of three, each time Ethan picking the wrong shape to form with his trembling hands... The first place went to... 'The Love Bug: Herpes Goes Bananas'. They wisely took the X-Box home with them! Well done!

This forced an unhappy team '1 Slow, 3 Other Blokes' into an unfortunate second place... They got the Thunderbirds full DVD set! That made Matt very happy, but Ethan not-so. It is his fault for being shit at Scissors, Paper, Rock though...

In no particular order, here are a bunch of people who left with some stuff after the August quiz. I was on holiday and Stew couldn't get the camera working properly, so our friend Otis helped out by taking pics on his mobile phone (hence the lower-res). At the time of writing, i know now which team name won what, so I'm posting pics of you all... here they are... your'e all winners in my eyes! 'An Alan Smithee Production' came in with a cool 56 points to win (after a scissors-paper-rock tie-break) the July quiz. Marking the first time they have actually won the quiz, they chose to grab the Gamecube and copy of Resident Evil:Zero as their prize!

'Renne Zellweger's Stupid Fat Puffy hamster Cheeks' came second after losing out - NEVER PICK STONEl also with 56 points. They went for the champagne!

'Lets Get Quizzical, featuring Olivia Neutron Bomb' came in with 55 points and third place. The man behind this prize - a George Romero zombie trilogy DVD boxset is actually Shaun of the Dead director Edgar Wright.

And as usual, in coming last, a member of project mayhem has no name... this team were rubbish and were given the delights of a Sex Lives of the Potato Men poster to deal with. It is both one of tech worst films and also one of tech worst posters of last year.

'Dwight Frye's Turkish Delight' came in with a cool 51 points to win the June quiz. They sensibly chose to grab the X-Box as their prize! Though the points between winners was very close indeed!

'Cup The Balls, Stroke The Shaft' - last months winners - came in with a respectable 50 points. They plumped for the champagne!

'I've Seen Bubba Ho-Tep' came thrid with 49 points. They got the framed Van Helsing Poster and a box set of Hitchcock movies. Result!

'Cup The Balls, Stroke The Shaft' came in with a sterling 71 points to win the May quiz, though the points difference between teams was very close indeed! They sensibly chose to grab the X-Box as their prize!

'Renee Zellwegger's Stupid Bastard Puffy Hamster Face' came second with 69 points and settled for the champagne!

Leaving poor old 'Bring Me The Head of Linda Lovelace' (kudos for a combined Sam Peckinpah and blow-job reference there) to walk away with this shoddy Robert DeNiro biography that Stew bought for himself and thought was shit... They had 68 points - see how close it all was?!?!

And as usual, in coming last a member of project mayhem has no name... this team did pretty rubbish and were given the delights of 'Jack Frost 2' a truly god-awful movie that was so bad, people were fighting to get a hold of it for it's kitsch appeal!

The return of the MTV team saw them romp home to a dubious win under the name 'Quizzers With Attitude'... They had 67 points and relied heavily on confirmed filmophille Edgar Wright for some answers... but lets not take anything away from them... well done. The lady Diane here went for the champagne! To the victor, the spoils!

'This Town's Like One Big Chicken Waiting to be Plucked!' came a respectable second with 66 points... they took away the Panasonic DVD player those lucky cats... They are also now first on the list to attend the MTV version of the quiz (should it be greenlit) in June.

'Steven Seagal is Fat and Always late (Fact!)' came third after a scissors paper rock tie-breaker with 'In Space, No One Can Hear You Cream'. Both teams had 63 points. A shoddy display in pulling a rock against the Segal's paper left them in an embarrassed silence. The victors left with some shoddy film-related books that they might find vaguely interesting. Well done folks!

As usual, in coming last in the quiz.... a member of project mayhem has no name. This team's shameful display resulted in them being rewarded perhaps the worst (and therefore perhaps the best) Steven Seagal film ever made.. 'Belly of the Beast!'

They also won best team name, but these cats romped home as winners of quiz 12. They traded under the ludicrous name of "Coolio Iglesias III Esq. Jnr Von Trapp". They decided to plump for the DVD player as their prize. Not quite as good as last months Jack Black guitar - but we can't give away gold every month! Well done guys!

"Mel Gibson Loves the Smell of Bleeding Palms in the Morning" got 60 points to come in a respectable second place. They got the champagne and the satisfaction of a quiz nearly won.

So that leaves "In Space No One Can Hear You Cream", who came in third. They took home x2 Bad MuthaFucka wallets (from the film Pulp Fiction). They were kindly donated by our friends at Camden Traders. You can check out their website from our links page (shameless plug there).

This nice ladies team were bad... but they came good when we gave them terrible hand-slap fest and Steven Seagal starrer - 'Belly of the Beast'. And he isn't even the beast with the belly of the title (they missed a trick there!)

The dudes from "Jean Claude Van Damme We're Good" actually were and won Jack Black's signed guitar - our best prize yet (after the Starship Troopers bug, that is). They scored 62 points and were quite touched (who can blame them?)

After a mix up with the scores, it became clear that "In Space, No one Can Hear You Cream" had come second over "A Bob Saget Joint"... bad markings from Paul there... They got the Champagne with 59 points!

As usual, in coming dead-last in the quiz a member of the quiz has no name (in a Project Mayhem stylie)... These dudes were bad... but they came good when we gave them Golden Raspberry winner 'Gigli' as their prize / forfeit. It really is that rubbish too!

The fine fellows of "Some Motherfuckers Are Always Trying to Ice Skate Uphill" came first after dispatching the "...Apes" in a schoolyard face-off. Congrats guys, and you scored extra points from us (not literally, don't worry) by choosing a Blade quote as your name - we frickin' love Blade! So do they apparently, as they took away the champagne and a DVD copy of the film! Good skills.

Second place is better than third, but its got to hurt the "Damn Dirty Apes" that they always lose out in 'Scissors, paper, Rock'... This is not the first time that it has happened and can they ever reclaim their debut glory? We think they can. Maybe quiz 11? As for quiz 10? Well, they took away the bottle of Bollinger and the X-Men 1&2 DVD box set.

"What's your Vector, Victor?" narrowly pipped "Jimmy the Hoover" to a respectable third place. They got the last bottle of champagne coupled with a literal Double Whammy of Liz Hurley films. "Double Whammy'" directed by Tom Dicillo - a much maligned film that actually isn't that bad and "Weight of Water", a kathryn Bigelow film that is total dogshit. Still, that's some good drinkin'!

I managed to endure this stinker because of the fact that I am rather partial to natalie Imbruglia. She's damn fine! The film isn't, though. This lady even exclaimed "This is shit!" when we gave it to her... that's what happens when you come last... you never walk away empty handed, but you'll wish you did!

The rather large MTV team romped home to another victory. They worked under the name The Droog-aloo Allstars. When is someone gonna beat these monkeys?

I fear that this lucky fellow won the DVD player, all lovely and nice and wrapped up for x-mas... They went under the name 'Group Therapy'. Enjoy it guys!

Damn Dirty Apes - who came joint second - lost out in a game of scissors-paper-rock to take the second of this months champers!

They don't need MTV's Alex Zane to have a good time... In fact, far from it... MTV producer Rob Lewis and co., AKA Zombie Islanders, romped home in first place after a serious game of scissors paper rock! Go on! They lifted the bundle of Matrix goodies!

The Radar TV team AKA Cheryl Tweedy's Mixed-Race Boyfriends, yet again failed to make it to the No. 1 spot. They came a close second having scored the same as the 1st place team (58) and also answering the tie-breaker at exactly the same moment. It all came down to the schoolyard... Scissors, Paper, Stone. Least they got the champers, eh?!?

Paul, Chris and Gary in Da Bungalow! came second, also with 60 points but losing a crucial scissors / paper / stone match. They walked away with a bumper booty of Jackass DVD and videos! Woo Hoo!

'God! I Love Shooting Monkeys' came a close second with 59 points... the saner amongst you should have requested a recount considering how much booze Stew and I drank... (don't worry, we did recount, I'm only joking). These newcomers could be the ones to watch in the future! They had the champagne... smart choice because the other third prize was shit...

Ordinarily, we'd have had some losers photo's, but Stew got so bloody drunk and had waffled on for so long, we ran out of time to do it... expect two losing team prizes next month instead folks!

'Harry Knowles' Arse', came out of nowhere to win this month's quiz. They took great pleasure in leaving with 'The Evil Dead' trilogy box-set. They consisted solely of a team of two... proving once again that the number of team members you have doesn't really matter... it's the inherent nerd-dom of the individual that really makes a difference... Well done guys!

Okay, so they didn't win, but at least they beat 'John Leslie's Alibi'. Alex Zane took great pleasure in holding aloft the bottle of champagne and hollering his victory cry of "In Your Face" to the entire pub. He and his team 'I Like Big Butt's and I Cannot Lie' got the champagne yet again!

'John Leslie's Alibi' - the Radar TV team - did respectably in coming third... but they had, in the early stages, prophecised a resounding win against the manchild Alex Zane... It didn't happen and they were even less pleased with the shitty collection of hand-me-down DVD's we anted up as a third prize... Doh! Next time guys, next time....

This cat seemed ecstatic when we presented him the Booby Prize for coming last... a copy of the BAFTA winning Chris Morris' turd 'My Wrongs'... I fear the emperor is standing with his cock out. 'I've Eaten Your Mother!' won a narrow victory with 60 points and decided to claim the champagne as a prize. The annoying part of the process being that Alex Zane assumes an incredibly smug mantle whenever he wins... even though it's the two fella's in the foreground who did most of the work - Rob on the left and his mate Julian on the right. The most important part of this victory though, is the fact that they picked the champagne as a prize instead of the DVD player... in a true spirit of comradery! This meant Nathan in the second place team could have it and also that my brother Lee (both from team 'Hitler Had Some Good Ideas') didn't win... and Lee hates to lose at anything! Ha!

Nathan claims his prize for second place - a DVD player. Amazingly, his own had broken on Monday and he was off to buy one on Thursday. He was ecstatic (as you can see). The team was called 'Hitler Had Some Good Ideas'... down to my brother Lee courting controversy. Thanks God he didn't plump for his a usual gambit 'Hitler Was Right!'. At least technically a couple of Hitler's ideas were good... like the Volkswagen and Autobahn's... Not too hot on the hole genocide plan though... Think that was perhaps a bridge too far, myself.

Anyway, they'll have to try harder next month to win. At the least the taking part was good fun though, eh?!? They got 58 points and, to be honest, missed a few sitters... I know they'll be kicking themselves for getting the title to 'Wrong Turn' wrong in the trailers round and the world and his dog know's that E.T. made the most cash. That would have forced a tie-breaker too. Still, there's always next month.

Guy from 'A Bob Saget Joint' claims our favourite prize... a giant 12" tall warrior bug from 'Starship Troopers'. It has poseable limbs and makes crunching noises. It's worth a packet on Ebay, don't you know (just don;t take it out of the box!!!). Rumours abound that their faltering placement was due to the lack of Phil Brough from the team line-up... but we would never suggest that. Perhaps Fritz' bus-induced concussion may have cost them a few points too?!?!

Film quiz veterans "A Bob Saget Joint" romped home in first place this month with an extremely respectable 56 points. They picked up the DVD Jerry Bruckheimer box set - containing classics such asCon Air, Enemy of The State and The Rock... clearly still drunks of the highest order, we salute their film knowledge, even though their team has swelled to ten members. You'd be disappointed if they didn't win, wouldn't you.

"Pop quiz, hotshot" came second this month with a respectable 53 points in the bag. They plumped for the champagne, though didn't drink it. Fair enough... you won it guys... you take it home if you want. Well done.

"The Only Walken, Tolkein, Living Dead" came third with a cool 51 points. They received the two film books we had knocking about quiz HQ and also some old skool 3-D comics from the eighties to go with their 3-D specs. Result!

As for the quiz losers prize... This was not to be as Stew decided to award the prize - a copy of the film 'Dazed and Confused' - to the guy who heckled him instead. It wasn't pretty and the guy in question gave the video away immediately to save face... Fair enough. Shame though, as it's a great film. Sorry quiz losers, you will be rewarded next month, we promise.

MTV's own self-confessed film-nerd Alex Zane (flanked by an unknown groupie in the above shot) and his show producer Rob Lewis, romped home with a whopping 61 points and Alex (Rob had to catch an early tube home) wisely chose the selection of 10 videos, including Evil Dead 2, Go!, Blade, Chasing Amy, Seven, M*A*S*H*, High Fidelity amongst others. Not Bad.- Now that's good watching! Fair play to him...

The bizarrely named "Focus, Fash, Focus!" came second with a respectable 57 points. They plumped for the champagne, though elected to not open it and took it away with them. Not quite the Formula One-style flurry of booze-wasting we had hoped for, but some people actually like to drink the stuff, it seems. The goon on the right is my brother Lee (Paul) and he was livid that he came second. Ha. Shouldn't be shit then should he. Nah, well done. 57 was a pretty high score.

"The Spirit of Harry Dean Stanton". These cats scraped into third after a game of scissors, paper, rock with last month's wining team - "A Bob Saget Joint", both of whom had 56 points. This guy took home three cool signed items... A signed Dreamcatcher poster (by Damian Lewis), A signed Lord of the Rings poster (by Orlando Bloom) and a signed 25th Hour press-book (by Spike Lee). result!

As a testament to quiz history, here are the winners from the first 'You're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat' back in April. In descending order..... And the winner's were...

"Sparkle Motion". They had a whopping 51 points and wisely chose the best prize we had on offer - a cool book about the Coen brothers. Now that's good reading! (Though admittedly, not the best prize to split between a team of three, but I guess they can share it).
